Now Enrolling! 2016 Summer Enrichment Programs

Now Enrolling!

At St. Croix Montessori, we design a summer enrichment program to inspire creativity, exploration, and build respect for community. Our Montessori-inspired programming is offered to two age groups: children ages 2 1/2 to 6 (pre-school to Kindergarten); and for children ages 6-12 (first grade to sixth grade).

We partner with leading instructors in Montessori, Orff-Schulwerk, Early Childhood, Youth Leadership, and Eco-adventure to bring your children a unique summer enrichment experience.

2016 Schedule & Themes

Summer Enrichment Programs are offered 8:00AM-3:00PM

Aftercare is available for a minimal fee per child during the hours of 3:00-4:00PM (5 minute grace period)

Primary Program Summer Enrichment: Children ages 2 1⁄2-5

Weeks of June 13th – August 1st

Children explore all five senses as they enter a journey of self- discovery and growth. Practical life skills (pouring, sorting, sweeping) are partnered with singing, stories, arts, baking, and nature exploration. Children also enjoy weekly yoga and Beach Fridays (weather permitting).

Elementary Program Summer Enrichment: Children ages 6-12

Weeks of June 13th-August 1st

We offer four themed programs for our elementary-aged children. Sign-up for one week or all!

Summer Science & Arts Enrichment: 3 Weeks – June 13th, June 20th, & June 27th

Our extremely popular program continues! Led by visiting AMI-certified guide Ginger Kleiber, children explore the natural and life sciences, dive into marine biology, experiment with kitchen chemistry, and discover astronomy – all while incorporating art and song. Sign-up for one week or more, and have a truly rewarding summer!

Creativity & Exploration: 1 Week – July 11th

St. Croix Montessori will have a fun-filled creativity-focused week, shaped to get students’ creative juices flowing.  We will explore shapes, origami, art, music and enjoy athletic team-building activities!

Eco-Adventure & St. Croix Bush Skills: 2 Weeks -July 5-8 & July 18th

St. Croix Montessori partners with Mount Victory Camp for another summer of fun! We provide an exciting two weeks of eco-friendly skills and adventures! Children will experience St. Croix in a completely unique way. Children have hands-on activities, such as making their own water filters, learning about native plants, building a primitive shelter, practicing tracking, learning primitive cooking on a self-made fire, and more! This is a hands-on, outdoor adventure!

Orff-Schulwerk Music & Arts Program: July 25th-August 5th

Our popular program continues! Children 6-12 explore music using the Orff- Schulwerk method of creating rhythms and melodies on a variety of instruments (xylophones, drums, records) in an ensemble. Older children (ages 9-12) learn the basics of the recorder, and initiate and improve on their music reading and writing skills. Children also create art to accompany the music and practice different dance skills. The two-week program, led by Daniel “D.J.” Sullivan, concludes with a children-designed, showcase performance for friends and family. All skill levels are welcome!
